•     The wrong way to write a review is to list a series of research reports with a summary of the findings of each. This is more like an annotated bibliography, which is different from a literature review. Writing your notes in the style of an annotated bibliography is a good first step in a literature review, but remember: It is only a first step.
•     The right way to write a review is to organize common findings or arguments together. The key to a good review is to organize the findings and research approaches by their commonalities and discuss them together (i.e., synthesize) where possible.
