This is what I have so far for the assignment, but up until part four and five of I am a bit confused.
F[x_] := (1/6)*(x^6) - (x^5) - 5*(x^4) + 29*(x^3) + 11*(x^2) - 93*x + 4
F'
-93 + 22 x + 87 x^2 - 20 x^3 - 5 x^4 + x^5
NSolve[F'
  • == 0, x]
{{x -> -4.17456}, {x -> -1.07193}, {x -> 1.06594}, {x ->
   3.33598}, {x -> 5.84457}}
Choose points in the intervals between the critical values and test them using the evaluate
ability of Mathematica.
Using the derivative test of your choice, decide which are local maxes and which are local
mins.
I'm somewhat confused on these two questions.  I don't even know where to begin for the first question.  For the second question, I'm not sure if I'm being asked to do it by hand or if there is a part of mathematica that will determine which is which.
If someone could please help me out, I'd really appreciate it.  Just as a reference, I'm not very good with vague hints when it comes to this sort of stuff.
