The nurse discovers that an IV is infusing ahead of schedule and you must slow it down. 725mL remain and the IV has an additional 6 hours to infuse. The set in use is 10gtt/mL. What is the new rate?

Hi myanna,

725mL remain and the IV has an additional 6 hours to infuse.

725 / 6 = 120 mL / h

Not sure if this is right. I don't know how to factor in 10gtt/mL. Is there a formula you've been provided. Mind explaining 10gtt/mL. Not a nursing major Frowning Face
