Which one of the following statements is correct about a hypothetical F-actin filament with a critical concentration (Cc) of 40 and 80 units at the plus and minus end, respectively?

1. If the amount of available G-actin monomers in the surrounding area is 40 units, then polymerization is favored at the minus end.
2. If the amount of available G-actin monomers in the surrounding area is 40 units, then the minus end will demonstrate no net growth.
3. If the amount of available G-actin monomers in the surrounding area is 50 units, then depolymerization is favored at the minus end.
4. If the amount of available G-actin monomers in the surrounding area is 80 units, then polymerization is favored at the minus end.
5. If the amount of available G-actin monomers in the surrounding area is 100 units, then depolymerization is favored at both ends.

Does this question have anything to do with equilibrium of actin monomers?

Chang, your questions are always so technique.

Actin filaments are then able to grow by the reversible addition of monomers to both ends, but one end (the plus end) elongates five to ten times faster than the minus end.

This link may help you figure it out, not really sure to be honest:
