Two closely related species of wolf spiders live together in northern California. However, meadow wolf spiders are only observed in meadows and forest wolf spiders are only observed in the forest. Both species are found near forest-meadow edges.

You hypothesize that both heat (high in the meadow, low in the forest) and competition between the species is responsible for these distributions. Briefly describe an experimental design that would allow you to test this hypothesis.
