I write everything the teacher writes on the board, I go to class and lab every day it is scheduled. I re write my notes after class, use mastering biology ... I don't know what to do, my exam score was not what I expected.

You should try reading the book! I know this sounds really redundant and obvious, but I find that the reading the book before i go to the lectures allows me to understand more about the lectures and the stuff i am writing down instead of just mindlessly writing!

Definitely make a point to go to your teachers office hours.  This will provide you with a lot more and they will see that you are trying.  I do this 2-3 times a week and my teacher takes the time to thoroughly explain things in greater detail, and walks me through the homework!
