At the end of the first electron transport chain, the pair of electrons move to photosystem I, where they again become energized by another photon of light

Once an electron has gone down the first leg of the electron transport chain, it arrives at PSI, where it joins the chlorophyll a special pair called P700. Because electrons have lost energy prior to their arrival at PSI, they must be re-energized through absorption of another photon.

The newly energized electrons are quickly passed to ferredoxin and then they go on to combine with NADP+ and H+ to produce NADPH

The ATP and NADPH molecules then move to the stroma where they are used to power the light independent reactions.
