So i have looked over my notes and have gone through my text book but i just cant seem to understand everything that's going on with resting membrane potential and action potential Crying Face

The resting membrane potential is the difference in voltage between the inside of the cell relative to the outside.

An action potential is when the neuron receives enough input to push it above the threshold, causing voltage-gated sodium channels to open, and this in turn leads to an impulse through the neuron.
