I need help wrapping my mind around the second part of this question...

What buffer system operates in blood plasma? Carbonic acid-bicarbinate system

Which member of the buffer system resists a drop in pH?_____________ Which resists a rise in pH?_____________

I am thinking bicarbinate and carbonic acid are possibly the answers but not sure which one goes where if that is correct.

I remeber talking about the carbonic acid buffer system when we were talking about hemoglobin in biochem, so that would be my guess
