Title: Catalase in animals
Post by: dsimpson1990 on Jul 13, 2011
OK I've been asked to discuss how animals would regulate the activity of catalase in their systems as they cannot control their internal pH or temperature?? I don't really know where to start with this or exactly what is meant by it, please help!?! Thanks  :)

Catalase is an enzyme that's abundant in your blood and found in many animals.

It converts hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water, so it cleanses your blood of H2O2. I can't see how this regulates body temperature. Any extra detail about this assignment?

Catalase ie a H2O2 scavenging enzyme who plays an esential role in converting H2O2 into H2O and O2.The enzyme functions at 37degree celcius which is the optimum body temperature.
