1. Frozen form of the water molecule. Ice has a specific gravity (0.9166) which is slightly less than water. This difference in specific gravity causes ice to float on water.
2. A thick mass of ice that forms over land from the compaction and recrystallization of snow and shows evidence of past or present flow.
