Amphetamine is a potent central nervous system stimulant that is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), narcolepsy, and obesity. Amphetamine works by mimicking adrenaline and causing a boost in energy and alertness that lasts far longer than regular adrenaline typically would.
