The Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) is the lowest concentration of antibiotic required to kill the germ. It can be determined from broth dilution minimum inhibitory concentration tests by subculturing to agar media without antibiotics. Antimicrobials are usually regarded as bactericidal if the MBC is no more than four times the minimum inhibitory concentration.
