A process of questions and answers by which we systematically reach deeper and deeper insights into the principles of truth and goodness. Ken Samples has isolated five characteristics of the method; as Socrates himself practiced it, the Socratic Method is skeptical, conversational, ‘definitional’ or conceptual, and contains elements of both deductive and inductive reasoning.
