1) The principle of fairness; the ideal of moral equity.

2) The fundamental principles of right and wrong. Aristotle defines it as the art of ‘treating equals equally and unequals unequally.’ Justice is often divided into its several kinds in ethical discourse: retributive, distributive, compensatory, etc.
