Parasitoidism is a specific type of symbiotic relationship in which an organism, known as a parasitoid, relies on a host organism during a particular stage of its life cycle. The parasitoid resides either on or inside the host and ultimately leads to the host's demise. Parasitoidism represents a distinct form of parasitism within the broader category of symbiotic interactions.
