Does
a) DNA make a single strand mRNA molecule?

DNA is used as a template, it doesn't "make" anything.

It is an "exact" copy, but the thymine is replaced with a uracil.

In eukaryotes, transcription takes place in the nucleus. Then, translation takes place outside the nucleus, in the cytoplasm.
