Following surgery to correct a testicular torsion, the nurse cautions the young patient that there is:
1.   a strong probability of torsion reoccurring.
2.   a possibility of infertility.
3.   a probability of orchiditis.
4.   a significant risk of acquiring benign prostatic hypertrophy.

After testicular torsion is corrected, lowered sperm counts and infertility may follow. On the positive side, there is also the likelihood of normal sperm production.
