Hypothetical Discussion..

Recently, my neighbor fertilized his tomato patch. He told me he had accidentally created special mixture for 'giant' tomatoes. He remembered exactly the formula. Sure enough, his tomatoes were 5% larger than average. Can we publish these results to show how good his fertilizer was? What if his tomatoes weighed 100 pounds each?

Many scientists are concerned with global warming. Any relationship between the issue of global warming and my neighbor's problem?

Do we have a control group here? Does "global warming" have a control group?

But what about that 200 pound tomato? global warming.

What is the thesis of global warming??

What causes this?

Are we sure? Do we have a control group for planetary warming?

That's not significant. In order to publish findings, you need a test group and a control group. And, 95% of the tomatoes grown in the experimental group must be 5% larger, if that's your hypothesis. He'll need ot buy seeds, separate the number of seeds into two groups.

No.
