Hi everyone!!!!

I need help!!!!

1. If the proximal tubule were unable to transport sodium ions into blood, why would you expect to find high concentrations of sodium and chloride in the urine?

2.Describe the mechanism of urine formation, identifying the nephron location where each step occurs.

3. Speculate why the juxtaglomerular (JG) apparatus is associated with the distal tubule and the afferent arteriole?

4. What would happen to the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) if a person suffered from severe malnutrition?

5. What would happen to the GFR if the blood pressure decreased?

6. Describe counter current flow and how it is used in urine production.

All suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

6. Describe counter current flow and how it is used in urine production.

The countercurrent flow within the descending and ascending limb of the nephrons in a person's kidney's increases, or multiplies the osmotic gradient between tubular fluid and interstitial space.
