Definition for Anomia
From Biology Forums Dictionary
Anomia is characterized by a marked difficulty with naming people and things that is usually due to some form of brain damage. This issue is part of the aphasia category because it deals with the areas of the brain that help us with language (hearing and deciphering, responding, speaking).
This issue does not neccessarily affect daily life as most anomia sufferers can still manage to get through tasks that do not require a lot of communincation (verbal). Some people do recover from this condition simply by going to speech therapists. Others with diseases that are degenerative in nature, do not.
