The theory that species’ genetic characteristics adapt over generations so as to be better suited for their environments. Evolutionary epistemology takes seriously the effect which evolution may have on what we consider knowledge to be, applying to concepts the same “survival of the fittest” struggle. Such thinking suggests pragmatism, rather than a strict correspondence theory of truth, may be a more legitimate theory.
