Definition for Interglacial periods

From Biology Forums Dictionary

Relatively short warm periods (10,000–40,000 years) that occur between glaciations in a glacial age. During interglacials, glaciers retreat across the planet. Even without human-induced climate change, the planet is currently in an interglacial period.
