Part 2
The condition I chose is Mastitis. I actually had this multiple times when I nursed my son. Mastitis can be a common condition to breastfeeding mothers and is worse than the usual pain of dry, cracked nipples. Mastitis usually occurs within the first 6 to 12 weeks after birth, however it can also happen later on during breast-feeding. Mastitis is usually treated with antibiotics and the pain can be relieved by pumping and nursing. The sample code I chose to use is actually out of our homework; O91.22. This code is for a 24-year-old woman who is three weeks postpartum.
