May 14, 2016 What I thought about management before; I thought and still think that management is only as good as the person in that position 80% of the time, the other 20% of the time it is something out of their control (higher management). My thoughts in the past would have matched myths 2-6. I really thought all managers did was drink coffee and socialize on the phone. It seemed they were never around when I as a customer asked to speak to one. My thoughts today have changed since I have been in the work force for a while. I do still believe I myths 5 and 6. My view of management has not changed, having been in the military which is a government corporation you see a lot of different management styles (leadership). I have found no matter where I went, who was in charge of me, who I was in charge of or what business I have dealt with; putting the right people in the right manager positions is the key. I believe business do not do a good job a preparing others take a manager job if someone leaves in return that person struggles and the flow of the operation is at risk
