Qicheng Dai ENSC 1015 Matt Eick 13 September 2019 Post1 Researchers state that the global warming was discovered since the mid twentieth century, which trend to the human expansion of the “greenhouse effect”. Sunlight sends energy into the earth's interior in the form of visible light, heating objects and transforming them into heat, which can only be transmitted by infrared radiation. Because of the special infrared wavelength, it cannot penetrate the atmospheric carbon dioxide layer, so that heat can not be released, and the temperature gradually rises. The major greenhouse gases are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Humans’ activities like burning of fossil fuels can increase the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect will lead to the recession of glaciers and the rise of sea level; the northward movement of climate zone will lead to ecological problems; in addition, it will also cause rapid weather changes in some areas in a short time, leading to abnormal climate, resulting in the aggravation of natural disasters such as high temperature, heat wave, tropical storms, tornadoes and so on. To decrease the output of greenhouse gases. There are several things we can do. First, we can develop renewable and new energy sources such as nuclear, wind and solar energy. Secondly, increasing the area of vegetation, eliminating deforestation and protecting the ecological environment are good ways. Thirdly, CO2 is captured from fossil fuels and used or sequestered. Fourthly, we should develop biomass energy and vigorously develop low-carbon or non-carbon fuels. Reference? https://climate.nasa.gov/causes/
