Snellen chart.

Description
Each line on the chart corresponds to a visual acuity rating. The reference line for this test is 20/20. The first number stands for 20 feet, the distance between the patient and the chart. The second number stands for 20 feet, the distance at which a person with normal vision could see that line. If a patient stands 20 feet from the chart but can only see the top large E (a visual acuity of 20/200), that means he/she can only see the line at 20 feet that a person with normal vision could see from 200 feet away.
