CS-US Relationships Predict Conditioning

Description
In 12 trials (see top figure), Rat A hears a tone that is followed by a shock every time. Rat B also receives 12 shocks, but hears the tone preceding it in only 50% of the trials. Even though tones are always followed by shocks for both rats, Rat A will show a stronger conditioned response to the tones (bottom figure).
