Effect of the direction of flagellar rotation

Description
a) If the flagella rotate counter-clockwise, their right-helical structure makes them be pulled together into a bundle and drive the bacterium in a straight line (running).

b) When rotation is clockwise, the flagella fly out in all directions, and the bacterium tumbles randomly.
