The structure of a DNA strand

Tags
Description
Nucleotides are covalently bonded to each other in a linear manner. Notice the directionality of the strand and the fact that it carries a particular sequence of bases. An RNA strand has a very similar structure, except that the sugar is ribose rather than deoxyribose, and uracil is substituted for thymine.
