C. Spermatogenesis in seminiferous tubule. Diploid germ cells (spermatogonia) undergo mitosis to renew themselves and to form primary spermatocytes. Primary spermatocytes undergo meiosis to form spermatids that mature into sperm. Sertoli cells (gold) support developing sperm.
