Benzodiazepines have largely replaced the barbiturates primarily because
 
  a. Barbiturates are largely ineffective for conditions that are readily
  treated by the benzodiazepines.
  b. Benzodiazepines have a larger margin of safety than do the
  barbiturates.
  c. Barbiturates are not effective for any condition.
  d. Most people cannot tolerate benefit benzodiazepine use for more than
  one or two days.
