A nursing student is a single mother with three small children. She works a part-time job. Her boss had someone quit and is pressuring her to work an extra shift each week to help out for a short time until he can hire another worker.

Her babysitter became ill and is hospitalized. She recognizes the importance of attending the first nursing class, but she is stressed because of the recent life events. What should the student do in this situation?
