Ans: D
Feedback:
DIC is hemorrhage in the presence of excessive coagulation. Although coagulation and formation of microemboli characterize DIC, its acute manifestations usually are more directly related to the bleeding problems that occur. The bleeding may be present as petechiae, purpura, oozing from puncture sites, or severe hemorrhage. Headache with light sensitivity is usually not associated with DIC unless the client has s/s of a cerebral bleed with CNS deficits. Decreased O2 saturation and diminished breath sounds are usually associated with atelectasis.
