Cathy Simms is a nurse at an elementary school in a low-income inner city. Cathy is aware of the probability of lead poisoning afflicting some of the students in her school, and she wants to do something to explore this problem.

Much of the area housing was built in the 1940s, and higher-than-expected lead levels have been found in playground soil traced to an old battery manufacturing plant located nearby. A primary prevention strategy that Cathy has determined to accomplish would be to:
  1. Have each neighborhood child tested for lead.
  2. Have the contaminated soil removed from the playground.
  3. Provide information on chelation therapy for all residents of the area.
  4. Providing training for teachers and parents on how to recognize signs and symptoms of lead poisoning.
