Mating in spiders is, in many cases, accompanied by predation of females on their mating partners.

The males in turn have evolved behavioral and morphological countermeasures to avoid being preyed upon. Would you calculate fitness costs for the players in these systems in a similar manner as you would when examining interspecific predatorprey interactions?

What will be an ideal response?

ANS:
No, even when males get eaten they may contribute to their own inclusive fitness by contributing nutrition to their offspring.
