If you are looking at a specimen with the 10X objective and your partner is
using the using the 40X objective, will there be a difference in resolution if you
are both using a source of illumination of ? = 525 nm?

Hey NAZ, welcome back.

I think this is an incomplete question, make sure everything is written down.

Technically, if you're using the same source of illumination, there won't be a difference in resolution. Remember, resolution is a measure ofthe clarity ofthe image; it is the minimum distance two points can be separated and still be distinguished as two points. For example, what appears to the unaided eye as one star in the sky may be resolved as twin stars with a telescope. This resolution is limited by the shortest wavelength of light used to illuminate the specimen. light microscopes can magnify effectively to about 1000 times the actual size of the specimen; at greater magnifications, additional details cannot be seen dearly.
