Mike and Mary Sullivan have just learned that their embryo carries a gene that may predispose him to homosexuality. Mike, who is a devout Catholic, believes homosexuality is sinful and doesn’t want to take any chances. Their embryo is still young enough so that genetic engineering could be used to replace the unwanted genes. W. French Anderson would most likely advise them to
   a.   not use genetic engineering because homosexuality is not a disease.
   b.   go with what they think is right for them because morality is subjective. If they regard homosexuality as a disease, then they have the right to have genetic engineering performed on their embryo to correct the disease.
   c.   use genetic engineering. They have a moral obligation to the embryo to remove or override the gene since otherwise their son will be harmed by discrimination.
   d.   not use genetic engineering. Genetic engineering is always wrong, no matter how serious the disease because it interferes with God’s plans for us as well as a child’s right to an open future.
