Use the following to answer the questions below:

Turkey is a staple at most traditional Thanksgiving dinners. A random sample of 12 grocery store customers were asked about the size of the turkey they were purchasing for Thanksgiving. The average weight was 13.9 pounds with a standard deviation of 2.2 pounds. The boxplot displays the distribution of the sample turkey weights.

A horizontal boxplot depicts the results of the Thanksgiving turkey purchased weights for 12 random customers. The horizontal axis is labeled, Weight (in pounds) of Turkeys purchased and has markings from 10 to 18 in increments of 1. The whiskers of the box plot range from 10.5 to 17.5 and the box ranges from 12 to 15.8 with a median at 13.8. All values are approximate.

What sample size would we need to reduce the margin of error to ±1 pound?

▸ 24 turkeys (customers purchasing turkeys).

▸ 15 turkeys (customers purchasing turkeys).

▸ 33 turkeys (customers purchasing turkeys).

▸ 13 turkeys (customers purchasing turkeys).
