A positive point charge q1 = 6.0μC is placed at (0.0cm; 5.0cm), and a negative point charge q2 = -5.0μC is placed at (5.0cm; 0.0cm). Find the electrical field in point (0.0cm; 0.0cm).

A positive point charge Q1 = 2.15 × 10-5 C is fixed at the origin of coordinates, and a negative point charge Q2 = -7.65 × 10-6 C is fixed to the x axis at x = +2.00 m. Find the location of the place(s) along the x axis where the electric field due to these two charges is zero (there is only one location).

Charges Q 1 = 2.15 x 10 -5 C
             Q 2 = -7.65 x 10 -6 C
Separation two charges r = 2 m
Let the electric field is zero at a distance x from the charge Q 1 .
Electric field due to Q 1 = Electri field due to Q 2
                    KQ 1 / x 2 = K Q 2 / ( r + x ) 2
                       (r+x) / x = sqrt[ Q 2 / Q 1 ]
                                    = 1.8863
                           2 + x = 1.8863 x
                     0.8863 x = 2
                                x = 2.256 m
i.e., the position of x coordinate is : -2.256 m
