Why is FADH2, instead of NADH, formed in one step of the Krebs cycle?

The above question is related to cellular respiration, Krebs cycle. i do not understand the question but i am giving it a shot, please tell me if i am correct.

FADH2 is produced instead of NADH because it is more electronegative and exothermic to accommodate the reduction of NAD+ to NADH

You're somewhat correct, farahalibhai.

FADH2 is used as an electron acceptor in step 6 of the Krebs cycle, because the reaction is not exergonic enough to reduce NAD+ to NADH. Recall that during the Krebs cycle, NAD+ accepts two electrons and one proton during glycolysis and the Krebs cycle.

Hope this help Slight Smile
