Discrimination is economically more irrational in an industrial society than agricultural societies for all the following reasons EXCEPT:
A) Geographic and social mobility are required to achieve the best match of person and a job, and ascribed status would be limit this
B) It does not make sense to cut off potential buyers because of race, religion, or some other irrelevant factor when you want to make a profit
C) Focusing on the local selling area means favoring employees who have the ascribed characteristics that are shared by the majority group in that area
D) Because of the diversity of skills required, discrimination on the basis of ascribed characteristics is shortsighted and may not result in the best match
