E. Because they all branch from common ancestors...I don't think it'd be the absolute time either, because the absolute time that a species split is hardly ever known....

1. common ancestry
2. genetic differences between species (usually in % form)
3. can hint to a time-line in which one species branched to form another under various environmental/genetic impacts.
