You are assigned to the engine company and are the first unit to arrive at the scene of a motor vehicle collision. Scene size-up reveals a downed power line lying across the vehicle’s hood. Two occupants are visible and appear to be conscious. While waiting for additional responders to arrive you should:
A) Push the wires out of the way with a long pry bar or pole.
B) Cool the wires with large amounts of water to prevent a fire from starting.
C) Stay at a safe distance and caution the occupants to stay inside the vehicle.
D) Encourage the occupant to exit the vehicle without touching the vehicle and the ground at the same time.
