Using the appropriate equations, predict the effects in each scenario.
A.   Vessels X and Y have the same diameter. X is 5 cm long, Y is 10 cm long. Which has the faster velocity of flow for the same fluid?

A.   Assuming the same driving pressure, the velocity is the same. Length is not a factor (v = Q/A).
B.   256. Q a DP/R, so DP a R. As R a 1/r4, DP a 1/r4. As Q does not change, DP1 × r14 = DP2 × r24. r14 = 44 = 256.
C.   increase
D.   Your water pressure would decline, owing to its diversion to the new subdivision houses.
