All proteins are synthesized by ribosomes in the cell. Some ribosomes float freely in the cytosol, while others are bound to the surface of the endoplasmic reticulum. Most proteins made by free ribosomes function in the cytosol. Proteins made by bound ribosomes either function within the endomembrane system or pass through it and are secreted from the cell.
Which of the following proteins are synthesized by bound ribosomes? (Select ALL that apply)

A) insulin
B) ER protein
C) lysosomal enzyme
D) DNA polymerase
E) actin
F) ribosomal protein

I think it's ER protein, insulin, and actin. I know it's AT LEAST ER protein, but I feel like it's insulin and actin, as well, because I thought that they got secreted by the cell.

Thank you so much for help with this!

You are mostly correct! ER protein & insulin, as well as lysosomal enzyme.

Why do lysosomal enzymes leave the cell? Wouldn't they stay in the cell with the lysosome to do their thing?

Lysosomal enzymes are synthesized in the ER to the golgi apparatus where they are modified. In certain occasions lysosomes release enzymes outside the cell by exocytosis and bring out digestion (extracellular digestion).
