Hello,

My textbook first states that "DNA gyrase is an enzyme that relieves any tension brought about by the unwinding of the DNA strands during bacterial replication."

However, on the sides, it states that it's a bacterial enzyme that relieves the tension produced by unwinding of DNA during replication.

So is DNA Gyrase only for bacterial replication?

Thanks!

Hey Bob-e,

DNA gyrase is an enzyme itself. It's found in both eukaryote and prokaryotes.
