i'm doing some research for a school assignment on ocean acidification on one of the questions is "discuss the affects on oxygen metabolism of animals"

i don't understand the question, can you answer it or explain the question for me....

Organisms without lungs extract their oxygen from the water. How well and how easily they do this depends on the pH of the water. As the water increases in acidity some organisms will struggle to respire without expending to much energy.
 This can (and in some places has) caused the creation of "dead zones" where a combination of high acidity and an excess of decaying organic material generates a body of water with no useable oxygen.
