Ok, there is a 180 degree line, a right angle comin out of it, and another angle comin out of it. one angle is x and the other is x- 16 degrees.

okay.. so you know that a right angle is 90 degrees, and you know the other angle is 16 degrees.
so you add 90 + 16 = 106 degrees.
and so you know the last angle would be 74 degrees because 180 - 106 = 74!
(there are 180 degrees in a triangle.)

There are 180 degrees in any triangle.  You are given 90 already and you are given x and x-16 so your equation should look like this:


x+x-16+90=180

Solve for x:

2x=90+16

x=106/2

x=53

So, the first angle is 53 and the second angle is x-16 which is 53-16=37.
