Hi bio_man, these 3 questons are from my quiz just want to see if i am right for #3&#4 but for #5 im a little bit confused on answering the question.
#3.Match the following functions to each of the enzymes listed below.
Some Functions of Enzymes
Build DNA strands
Build RNA primers
Build mRNA strand
Cleave DNA strands
Splice Okazaki fragments
Description:
Enzyme:
Helicase (4)
DNA ligase(5)
RNA primase (1)
RNA polymerase (3)
DNA polymerase(2)
#4.Like mRNA, tRNA has a ribose sugar, U instead of T, and is single stranded. Unlike mRNA, which remains a long single strand of nucleotides, tRNA folds so that some areas pair up.
The resulting structure has an anticodon on one end and a site for an amino acid to attach on the other end. There is base complementarity (A pairs with U and G pairs with C) between an mRNA codon and tRNA anticodon.
If the amino acid serine attaches to a tRNA, which of the following anticodons could be at the opposite end of the tRNA molecule?
Select one:
a. AGA and AGT
b. AGA and AGU
c. UCA and ACG
d. UCU and UCA
#5.A Section of a Gene
CTA AAA TAG TCT
For the DNA sequence shown above, identify the following:
a).mRNA codons
b).tRNA anticodons
c).amino acids
(3 marks)
DNA CTA AAA TAG TCT
mRNA
tRNA
Amino Acids

you can get back on this with me tomorrow afternoon as well.

for #5, i thought i was supposed to take the sequence: CTA AAA TAG TCT to identify the DNA sequence
mRNA codons ( AAA)
